Honey fungus jest is a mushroom that naturally grows in Europe and is highly regarded by mushroom pickers and growers alike. It is an edible, tasty fungus, although usually only caps are taken for culinary use. This mushroom can be eaten after 5 minute boiling already. It can be grown on both living and dead trees, including the underground woody parts. The first harvest may take place already after six months in ideal conditions and will continue for the next eight years. Growing temperature does not need to be high, any value between 5 and 21ºC will satisfy this fungus. Choose shady sites.
