Honey fungus grows in the wild in our climate conditions and is highly regarded by mushroom pickers. It is edible and delicious, although only caps are usually used in gastronomy. You may eat it after 5-minute cooking already. You may grow honey fungus on live and dead trees alike and even on the lignified underground parts. First harvest may take place even only after six months in optimal conditions and the next crop collection should occur regularly for up to 8 years. The temperature does not need to be high, between 5 and 21°C, and the site should be shady.
