Carrot 'Lenka' (Daucus carota) is a medium early variety that should be grown for autumn harvest. Production of rich crops even in less favourable weather conditions belongs to major advantages of this variety. It produces nicely shaped, conical, bright orange roots. Its flesh is crunchy and juicy and tastes deliciously thanks to high sugar content. Due to attractive form and great taste, roots of the 'Lenka' carrot are usually consumed directly, but may also be stored.

Carrot is grown solely from direct sow. You may sow 'Lenka' carrot seeds almost all spring long in rows 25-40 cm apart. Thin out the too densely growing seedlings so they grown 5-8 cm apart in rows. You would be able to harvest first roots already at the beginning of summer, while roots intended for storing may stay in the ground until October. This vegetable prefers sunny sites. Sandy-clay, light, permeable soil would suit it best. We recommend to grow it in the second year after the site has been fertilized with manure.

Each package contains 50 g of the 'Lenka' carrot seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
