"Karla" garden balsam (Impatiens balsamina), or touch-me-not as it is also called, is an annual plant with extremely decorative blooms. This tall plant, whose erect, fleshy shoots grow 60 - 70 cm tall, is covered with numerous, pale green, spiky leaves. Flowers develop in the upper parts of the stems in leaf angles. Five-petal blooms delight with their raspberry red colour. They will inhabit borders and flower beds in garden for a long time, since the blooming period of this species lasts from June to October. Garden balsams look particularly magnificent planted in larger groups, alongside fences and walls or as a flowery hedge.

Garden balsams may be grown from seedlings or from direct sow to the soil. Prepare seedlings at the start of spring indoors so they may be transplanted to the borders after the last spring frosts have passed. These plants are sensitive to frost, so their seeds may only be sown onto the field in the second half of May. The optimal spacings for garden balsam cultivation are 30 x 40 cm. Touch-me-nots perfectly fit sunny and shady sites. The soil should be moderately rich in nutrients and water, preferably sandy and permeable.

Each package contains 2 g of the "Karla" garden balsam seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
