Ornamental Pepper is an annual plant that grows 20 to 30 centimetres in height. Its little fruit greatly contribute to its high value as a decorative plant. The fruit are initially greenish-yellow, then turn red; they appear in the summer and decorate the plant up to late autumn. Along with the fruit grow beautiful little inconspicuous flowers. Starting in mid-March, Ornamental Peppers can be planted in balcony planters and containers. Having been cut, this variety is an excellent addition to dried flower arrangements.

Growing: sow the seeds in boxes from mid-March to mid-April. The seeds germinate in 10 to 14 days at 18-20°C. Prick the seedlings out individually into pots (8 centimetres in diameter at first, then replace the pots with ones with a diameter of 12 centimetres). In mid-May, plant out into boxes or containers. This variety requires to be fertilised frequently and grows best in moist rich soil.
