Peony-flowered "Nimfa" aster (Callistephus chinensis) is a variety that develops exceptionally ornamental plants that would look magnificent on every garden border. Snow-white inflorescences that resemble peony flowers will add freshness to your garden. Flowers will develop gradually all summer long until first frosts. "Nimfa" variety grows 40 - 50 cm tall. Large, spherical inflorescences are ideal cut flowers that retain fresh looks long after being cut. Peony-flowered asters fit well into compositions with other summer flowers or other varieties of its own species.
Peony-flowered asters are sown to the ground in May, but you may also prepare aster seedlings earlier in a heated room. Commence with this activity early in spring. Sow seeds into light and permeable soil. Asters show high resistance to low temperatures, hence can be transplanted outside only in the second half of May, after spring frosts are gone. Choose sunny sites in order to allow the plants to bloom abundantly. They do not require any special care measures, but we recommend to provide them with a fertile, moderately moist, permeable soil.
