"Tristan F1" courgette (Cucurbita pepo var. giromontiina) is a very productive variety that develops juicy and tasty fruit covered with dark green peel that grow 13 - 18 cm long. These broadly spreading plants grow 60 cm tall and form dense tufts that consist of large, green leaves with silvery spots and large, yellow, bell-shaped male and female flowers. High tolerance to diseases is one of the main advantages of the "Tristan F1" variety. It allows you to eliminate chemical control agents from the culture. Zucchini fruit are low-calorie, yet rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and vitamins A, K, E, PP, C, as well as B-group vitamins and carotene. The substances that courgette contains deacidify the body and regulate digestion processes. "Tristan F1" zucchini tastes great steamed and baked with a meaty filling.

Seeds of the "Tristan F1" zucchini should be sown directly to the permanent site starting in the third decade of May until June, 3 seeds per hole in 80 - 90 cm spacings. In order to speed up the harvest of the fruit you may sow courgette seeds under covers already in April. Seedlings are transplanted to the permanent site end of May beginning of June. The fruit are harvested gradually as they ripen from July to September. Zucchini fruit may be picked at every maturity sage, although the ca. 20-cm-long fruit covered by thin, tender peel that can be scratched off with a fingernail, taste the best. You should choose sunny, warm and wind-sheltered sites for courgette cultures. These plants yield richest crops in permeable, humous, fertile soils rich in nutrients and water. Zucchini has high requirements in regard to nutrients, hence we recommend to enrich the site with manure the year before the culture start. You may also plant zucchinis directly at a compost heap.
