Beetroot "Cylindra" (Beta vulgaris) - TREATED SEEDS - is a variety recommended for early harvest. It produces elongated, cylindrical roots that grow 15 - 18 cm long and are covered by smooth, thin peel. Flesh takes on intense, saturated red colour in the whole cross-section. Sweet taste and high betanine content predestinates "Cylindra" variety for direct consumption and processing to juices, preserves and storing. Beetroots show great nutritional value. They supply our body with provitamin A, vitamins C, PP and B vitamins. They also contain natrium, kalium, phosphorus, zinc and calcium.
Beetroots are grown from direct sow. Beginning of april is the right time for sowing beetroot seeds for early harvest. If you wish to get beetroots for storing, you should sow end of June. Seeds offered in our online store have been treated. This procedure destroys germs living on seed surface and protects seeds from germs lingering in the soil. It also beneficially influences sprouting. Beetroot is an undemanding plant. It yields richest crops from light soils that are rich in humus.
Each package contains 15 g of "Cylindra" beetroot treated seeds. The package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
