Seeds of the "Red Salad Bowl" lettuce are sown in early spring under covers. Seedlings are ready for transplantation to the permanent site after approximately 5 weeks after the sow. Seedlings should be planted in 30 x 20 cm spacings. You may harvest them gradually until the end of summer. Lettuce yields richest crops on sunny sites and in fertile, humous, sandy-clay and rapidly warming soils.
