"Picolino F1" cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is a productive variety that is intended for spring and autumn greenhouse cultures. It develops dark green fruit that grow 12 - 15 cm long and are covered with smooth peel. Fruit of this variety are particularly fitted for direct consumption in salads and sandwiches. Cucumber is a low-calorie and digestible vegetable. It consists predominantly of water (97%) and protein. It contains fats, sugars, vitamins and minerals, of which potassium plays the most important role. Cucumber peel has the highest nutritional value and therefore we recommend to eat cucumbers whole, unpeeled. Thanks to the content of basic compounds cucumber deacidifies the body. It also helps to dispose of the excess water and toxins. Cucumbers are also rich in numerous anti-cancer substances, flavonoids, lutein and caffeic acid among others.

Seeds of the "Picolino F1" cucumber are sown from February to March to pots under covers. Seedlings are transplanted to the permanent site 30 - 40 days after the sow in March - May. In order to preserve the health of the fruit and even access to light you would need to grow the plants on horizontal supports. Cucumbers are ready for harvest from May to September. Harvest the fruit regularly every 1 - 2 days, choosing those with shiny and smooth skin. Choose warm and well sites with humous soil with high water capacity and rich in nutrients for cucumber cultures.
