The 'Green Fire F1' leaf mustard is still a relatively unknown leaf vegetable with a truly oriental flair. As you can imagine, the mustard condiment can be produced from its seeds. This plant is easy to grow and undemanding. The leaves and stems constitute the edible part. They provided a great addition to all kinds of salads, but you can also steam or stir-fry the greens and add them to vegetarian and meat dishes. Leaf mustard foliage is also added to sauces and pastes in Asiatic cuisine.

The seeds of the 'Green Fire F1' leaf mustard that we offer here allow you to grow this unique vegetable on your own. This plant grows medium tall. Its green leaves are pinnatisect and therefore extremely ornamental. Their taste is distinct with a peppery-mustard note. Leaf mustard is very rich in nutrients, including the easily available vitamins, micronutrients and a large dose of folic acid. The leaf mustard that belongs to the cabbage family contains sulphoraphane, a strong anti-oxidant and proven anticancer agent.

The short vegetation period that lasts 3 to 4 weeks should finally convince you to give this vegetable a try. You can sow it as the main crop or after crop. It is perfectly suited for the all-year cultivation in greenhouses. It does not present any problems and grows in almost every kind of soil, provided that the site is sunny and frequently watered. This plant is resistant to low temperatures and handles small frost well. You can start the culture in March or April already on a seedbed. Sow the seeds 0.5 to 1 cm deep every 30 cm in rows 60 cm apart. The leaf rosettes develop quickly and are then followed by the flower stalks.
