Microgreens - Lemon basil "Mrs Burns" (Ocimum basilicum citrodora) - young leaves with unique taste display very intense, strong, citrus aroma. Microgreens are young plants that are harvested at an early development stage. They are harvested and eaten as soon as they have developed cotyledons and first pairs of true leaves. These young plants contain much more vitamins and nutrients than mature plants. Regular consumption of Microgreens brings similar benefits as eating sprouts, but they have higher nutritional value. Adding lemon basil to meals will enhance their nutritional value and flavour. Young basil leaves with lemony taste are a great addition to fish and frutti di mare, as well as salads and sauces.
Cultivation of Microgreens is very easy and does not require much space nor experience. You will only need a shallow container or box, soil, seeds and water. You may sow Microgreens seeds all year long, because they should grow in a warm room. Seeds should be dispersed evenly and densely on the surface and sprinkled with water two times daily. You should water them regularly, yet moderately, only to prevent the soil from drying. The plants will be ready for harvest in about 2 - 3 weeks, when they would have developed first true leaves.
Each package contains 3 g of Microgreens "Mrs Burns" lemon basil seeds - for growing young leaves with exceptional taste. A growing guide and the sow-by date have been included in the product information.
