"Nobol" beetroot (Beta vulgaris) is a variety that is considered an early one and is resistant to shooting flowering branches. It is perfectly suited for the early harvest cultures, but may also be grown for the late harvest and those roots could be stored. It develops round roots that quickly take on nice colour. Their flesh is vividly red and contains plenty of dry matter. It is covered with smooth, thin peel. Beetroots possess high gustatory value, as the are a great source of vitamins and minerals. Roots of this variety are perfect for direct consumption, as well as production of juices, preserves and storing.

Beetroots are very easy in cultivation and do not require much attention from the gardener. Their seeds are sown directly to the borders. Sow beetroot seeds at the beginning of April for the earliest possible harvest. Should you wish to store the roots, start the culture in June. Beetroots are grown in rows 30 cm apart. Seedling need to be thinned so they grow in 6 cm spacings, allowing them to develop large, regularly shaped roots. Depending on the time of sowing "Nobol" roots may be harvested from June to October. Beetroot is an undemanding plant that may grow in almost every kind of soil. It yields best crops in light soils that are rich in humus and water.
