The 'Cerise' red field cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is an exceptionally productive, reliable variety that produces sweet fruit that are ideal for raw consumption. The plants grown from the seeds offered here stand out with the excellent vigour. The presented cultivar belongs to indeterminate tomatoes and its slender shoots should be staked. The vigorously growing 'Cerise' tomato develops numerous flowers from which small (about 1.5 cm in diameter) sweet and delicious cherry-type fruit develops. These round tiny tomatoes are covered with shiny skin that is resistant to breaking. They are a perfect summer snack. They are rich in potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and other minerals as well as vitamin C and beta-carotene. Due to its attractive appearance and excellent taste free of sour notes berries of this variety can be eaten raw, alone or in salads and sandwiches.
Sow of the 'Cerise' tomato seeds should take place early in spring in mini-greenhouses, on hotbeds or in seeding trays and multipots on windowsills in heated rooms. The plants bear fruit 65 to 68 days after planting on the permanent site. The dense, long clusters of shapely tomatoes that resemble red beads can be harvested from the beginning of July. The variety that we present here can be grown not only in the open field, but in a large pot on a sheltered balcony or terrace too.
Each package contains 1 gram of the 'Ceris' field cherry tomato seeds. The growing tips and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
