"Citrina" tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is an indeterminate variety that needs staking. This field variety also thrives in containers and can be cultivated on balconies and terraces. It produces plenty of fruit and the plants would bend under the weight of the berries. Therefore we recommend to prune the plants, leaving 3 - 4 stems only. Small, light yellow fruit have a characteristic sharp tip and resemble lemons in shape. Their flesh is bright yellow, has a tender taste and is covered with soft skin. They are perfect for direct consumption in sandwiches, salads and as dish garnishing.

Tomatoes are grown from seedlings that should be prepared early in spring in a warm room. Tomato seeds germinate in temperatures between 14 and 16°C. Seedlings are transplanted outside after the risk of spring frosts is gone, from mid-May to June. Fruit of the "Citrina" variety reach crop maturity between July and October. You will achieve best results in tomato cultivation on warm, sunny sites and properly drained soils that are rich in nutrients.
