White cabbage is one of the most popular vegetables around the world. Although it can be found in almost every store, nothing compares to the taste of a head grown in your own garden. How it is done' Let's start with good seeds that you will find in our store.

"First harvest" is a white cabbage variety intended for growing in the field. As one of the earliest varieties it is destined to be eaten directly. It will thrive even in hobby gardens, as it is rather udemanding. "First harvest" heads grow quite large and heavy, from 1.5 to 2.5 kg in weight. They consist of tightly bundled, tasty leaves. This variety can be stored short-term. The leaves should not break or crackle and are light green with a faintly purplish stain. Round, regularly shaped heads can be harvested as early as in May and then continuously until end of July.

When thinking of the use for white head cabbage from first harvest, one dish instantly comes to mind. Beloved young cabbage, stewed with dill, appears on many tables around Europe in the spring. This dish, seasoned according to recipes passed on from generation to generation, can be eaten as a side dish or on its own. Heads from own garden will not only taste better, but also be more healthy. There is of course more to white cabbage than just one dish. Cabbage might be used in casseroles, ratattouilles, salads, fillings, both in vegetarian and meat dishes. It is indeed a very universal vegetable, rich in different nutrients that beneficially influence our well-being.
