Microgreens - Mangold (Beta vulgaris var.vulgari) - young leaves with exceptional taste are an attractive and easily cultivated addition to different dishes. Microgreens are plants harvested at the early development stage, when they have developed the first pair of true leaves. Young plants contain more valuable nutrients than their mature relatives. They are valued for their distinct taste and great looks. Young, nicely coloured mangold shoots and leaves constitute an appetizing and healthy addition to sandwiches, salads, eggs and curd. The most important thing is that you may easily grow them all year long on a windowsill. They will supply you with necessary vitamins, minerals and enrich your diet with fibre.
Home cultivation of Microgreens is very easy and does not require much money nor effort. You may grow them in containers or boxes placed on a sunny windowsill or balcony. You will need light soil - disperse Microgreens seeds on its surface evenly. The culture should be sprinkled with water two times daily, you should never let the soil dry completely. After 2 - 3 weeks the plants will be ready for consumption.
