White cabbage "Diethmarscher" (Brassica oleracea var. capitata f. alba) belongs to the earliest cabbage varieties and its vegetation time is limited to 50-55 days. Its large, round heads that consist of tighly packed, broad leaves, are ready to harvest in the beginning of June the earliest. Their pleasant, subtle taste makes them perfect for steaming or filling. Additionally, the leaves of the early white cabbage provide a rich source of easily assimilable proteins, vitamin C, provitamin A, calcium, iron and magnesium. Thanks to high fibre content they are also easily digestible.

Seeds of this early cabbage variety are sown into hot beds, indoor greenhouses or pots in early spring. Hardened seedlings can be transplanted into the ground or under covers. In case of the open air cultivation use of agrotextiles is higly recommended in order to speed up the harvest. Presented variety needs a light, quickly warming up, fertile and regularly watered soil. Heads of the "Diethmarscher" white cabbage can be picked from the filed from June to July.
