Kale is considered a highly nutritional vegetable that belongs to the Superfoods category. Sprouts of this plant surpass the mature plants in terms of the nutritional value and are considered one of the healthiest sprout types that are available on the market. The crunchy and crisp shoots are savoury and sometimes have a nice bitter note. They are recommended for various dishes of the Asiatic cuisine, but they will also enrich the taste of ordinary daily fare, e.g. they will improve the nutritional value of salads and add nutrients to sandwiches. We recommend to eat the raw when they contain the most anti-oxidants.

The sprouts grown on your own will supply you with large amounts of vitamins A, C, B1, E, H and a full set of micro- and macronutrients. They contain the omega-3 fatty acids, proteins and fibre. Growing sprouts at home is easy. You can put them in a special sprouter or in glass jar on cellulose or gauze. Prior to sowing we recommend to soak the seeds in lukewarm previously boiled water for 3-6 hours. This treatment helps to soften the seed shell and facilitates germination that way. Rinsing the seeds and sprouts is the most important care measure, as it prevents the seedlings from moulding and disease attacks. Growing sprouts in a warm, bright place that is however not directly exposed to sunlight, brings the best results. The harvesting takes place after 3-5 days.
