Beetroot "Snow Ball" (Beta vulgaris) is a variety producing round roots with smooth white skin and snow-white, juicy flesh, devoid of hard strings in the rings. It is the best variety for all those who love beetroot taste, but dislike brown spots on their clothing. Roots of the "Snow Ball" beetroot are completely free of the betanine dye that stains hands and textiles and may cause allergies. Gustatory and nutritional value of the white beetroot are the same as of the coloured varieties. Its roots are rich in vitamins, folic acid and minerals, as well as proteins, sugars and fibre. This variety is intended for direct consumption, freezing and processing. White beetroots may be used in salads whose ingredients should retain their natural colours, soups, casseroles, juices, as well as children’s and toddler’s diet.

Cultivation and requirements of the "Snow Ball" beetroot do not differ from other beetroot varieties. It requires moist, possibly clay and humous soils with neutral reaction. It is grown from direct sow to the permanent site. Seeds are sown from April to July in 30-45 x 6-10 cm spacings. Seedlings are thinned when they have developed 4-6 leaves, setting plants 12 cm apart. Ripe beetroots can be harvested from June until October.

A package contains 10 g of "Snow Ball" beetroot seeds, as well as the sow-by date and growing instructions.
